How to translate my product descriptions with the help of AI?

Before starting, configure the module and check your subscription and available quota.

The product field you want to translate must already contain saved text in the source language. Choose a different destination language. You can write your product descriptions with AI before translating them.

1/ From the product page

Once you've given your new product a title (at least in the language in which your store is installed) and registered it for the first time, open the “E-commerce Copilot” block on the product page.

The block layout depends on the product form used in your PrestaShop version. It offers long descriptions, short descriptions and meta-descriptions, with a destination language selector for translation. To follow the review workflow described here, use the back-office menu tool detailed in the next section.

Important: we recommend that you always proofread the translation to check its vocabulary and faithfulness to the original text. Also check names, amounts, currencies, commercial terms and links. Take care to retain useful HTML tags where present.

2/ From the back-office menu

Open “E-commerce Copilot”, then “Copilot for translating content”.

  1. Choose a long product description, short product description or product meta-description.
  2. Select the source language in “From language” and the destination language in “To language”.
  3. Start typing the name of the product and select the matching result. Search uses names or titles in your back-office interface language.
  4. Click “Translate”, then wait for the preview.
  5. Read the content, correct it if necessary, then click “Save”.

Before saving, check the selected field and language: existing content may be replaced. Keep a copy of the existing text if you may want to reuse it. Then check the result in the back office and on the storefront if the product is published.

3/ From the module configuration

In “Copilot access”, click “I need my copilot for a translation”. This opens the same tool; follow the back-office menu steps above.
