How does the module calculate margins on orders that have been placed before its installation?

The module imports orders placed before its installation to calculate margins from the available purchase costs.

Choose the source of purchase costs

Open the module configuration and select Basic Settings. Two options determine which costs are used in the calculations:

• Ignore product cost prices defined at supplier level? controls whether supplier purchase costs are taken into account.
• Consider the product cost price as it was at the time the order was placed? gives priority to the cost recorded for the order rather than the current catalogue cost.

To give priority to the purchase cost recorded in order lines, set the first option to No and the second to Yes.

Understand margins for orders placed before installation

A product’s current purchase cost may differ from its cost at the time of sale. If the earlier cost was not retained, the current cost cannot reconstruct past changes. Margin accuracy therefore depends on the prices entered and the data available for each order.
