How to add a UA property to my existing GA4 property?
At any time, you can associate a Universal Analytics property with your existing GA4 property and benefit from UA reports in addition to GA4 reports.
To do this, you need first to create your UA property, which you will then associate with your existing GA4 property. Follow the procedure below.
Log in to your Google Analytics account and click on the "Admin" tab in the left-hand menu:
In the "Account" column, select the account of your GA4 property and in the "Property" column, click on "Create a property":
Enter a name for your UA property. We recommend that you use the same name as your GA4 property, in order to recognize the two associated properties:
Then select your time zone and the currency of your store (indicate the default currency if you offer several). They must be the same as those of your GA4 property:
Click on "Show advanced options":
and activate the "Create a Universal Analytics property" option:
Indicate the URL of your website:
Check "Create a Universal Analytics property" and click on "Next":
Fill out the information about your business, as you want and click on "Create".
For example:
Your UA property is created. You need now to associate it with your existing GA4 property. To do that, click on "GA4 Setup Assistant":
In the "I want to connect to an existing Google Analytics 4 property" section, select the GA4 property to associate with the UA property you've just created:
Click on "Connect Properties":
The two properties are now connected. You can click on "See your GA4 property" to access it:
Please note that you can switch from one property to another from the drop-down menu in the "Property" column:
You can also activate the options of your UA property for an "e-commerce" data tracking. To do so, select your UA property from the drop-down menu in the "Property" column:
In the column of "views" click on "Ecommerce settings":
Enable the e-commerce tracking and enhanced e-commerce reporting, and save:
Don't forget to enter the tracking ID of your new Universal Analytics property in the module to start collecting data in your new UA reports. To do so, follow our FAQ on the subject.
