How can I verify the existence of and remove the automatic data source created by Google?
Google can discover products on your site and add them through a Found by Google source. This differs from automatic price, availability and condition updates described in this FAQ.
In Merchant Center, open Settings → Data sources → Product sources and locate the automatic source. Check which items it manages and compare them with module-submitted products.
Removing it is not a requirement for using the module. Google normally prioritizes your submitted data for the same product. Before acting, check IDs and item origins to avoid removing a useful source.
- Stop managing products ends management through that automatic method.
- Hiding products concerns their visibility on the surfaces Google specifies. The documented 4–8 hour estimate concerns complete hiding, not every data-source operation.
- Removing organic search results or deindexing the site uses other mechanisms; do not infer it from removing a Merchant Center source.
Available options can vary by account. Check the official procedure below, verify the intended effect and then inspect affected products and destinations.
