How to configure the sending of emails inviting to rate my products or my shop?

The module allows you to send emails inviting your customers to rate the products they have just bought or their shopping experience on your shop.

To do so, you need first to activate the product reviews and/or shop reviews in the corresponding tabs.

In Rating Emails, each section contains its own CRON URL: one for product review emails and one for shop review emails. Schedule the tasks for the review types you use.

First of all, you must install CRON tasks on your server to schedule the sending of emails inviting your customers to evaluate your products or your shop.

Once the CRON tasks are configured, move on to the configuration of the email sending.

1/ Product Review Emails

Start by enabling the sending of product review request emails:

Choose the order status that starts the countdown before sending. The module lists the order statuses available in your shop; the choice is not limited to three standard statuses. Select the status that matches when you want to request a review.

Then, set the number of days that must separate the change of the order status to the previously defined status and the sending of the e-mail:

Example:

Let's imagine that the options are configured like this:

Order status to be considered for sending the email: Delivered
Number of days before sending the email: 3

A customer places an order on September 14. On September 19, its status changes to “Delivered”. With a three-day delay, the request becomes eligible on September 22 and is processed at the next CRON run.

You will then be able to define the content of the email. Texts are proposed by default but you can, of course, modify them.

Review the email texts in every language used by your shop. The module provides default wording where translations are available. You can adapt these texts to your shop.

When you add a language to your shop, check and complete the email texts in that language. Your customized texts are not translated automatically.

If no review has been posted after the first email sent, you have the option to send a reminder email.

To do this, start by activating the reminders:

Then define the number of days that must separate the sending of the first email from the sending of the second (the reminder):

Continuation of the previous example:

Number of days before sending the reminder email: 5

If the customer has not left a review, the reminder becomes eligible five days after the first email is sent. If the first email was sent on September 22, the reminder is due on September 27 and is processed at the next CRON run.

In the same way as for the first email, you can personalize the content of the reminder email. Don't forget to do this for all the languages of your shop:

Check the reminder subject and message for each shop language as well. Review the proposed defaults and customize them where necessary before enabling reminders.

2/ Shop Review Emails

The shop review section uses the same main settings: enable requests, choose an order status, set the delay and edit the multilingual content. You can also enable a reminder if the customer has not left a review.

We advise you to stagger the sending of product and store review emails so that your customers do not receive too many review emails at the same time.

The same language checks apply to shop-review request and reminder texts. In multishop, review the values for the shop concerned, including any shop-specific customizations.

The dates in the example are due dates: the module processes eligible emails and reminders at the next CRON run. Delivery to the inbox also depends on the mail service. Past order import is an additional product-email option, so the two sections are not strictly identical.

Past orders

The product section offers an import form for orders from the past 30 days. Select the required statuses and check the scope before confirming: requests for imported orders are processed by the next product CRON run. The shop section does not offer the same import tool.
