How to send quality images to Google Shopping?
Under Basic settings → Image size for product photos, choose a sufficiently large format actually available for your catalogue images. The module uses the cover image and can export up to ten additional images when that option is enabled.
Google announces a minimum of 500 × 500 pixels for all products from January 31, 2027, with warnings during the 2026 transition. Earlier 100 × 100 non-apparel and 250 × 250 apparel thresholds are therefore transitional. Prepare originals at least 500 × 500; Google recommends 1,500 × 1,500 or larger. Artificially enlarging a small image does not restore missing detail.
- Clearly show the actual product and the corresponding image for a variant.
- Avoid promotional text, watermarks and elements obscuring the product.
- Check
image_linkandadditional_image_linkURLs: public access, supported format and no crawler blocking. - When changing PrestaShop image formats, check that their thumbnails have been generated.
A missing image can cause an item issue; it does not automatically predict account suspension. See also the shop URL.
