Why are the email addresses of the Facebook login button users not being retrieved correctly?
An address such as firstname.lastname@facebook.com is a technical address created by the module when Facebook does not return an email address. It does not establish that the customer has a mailbox at that address.
This fallback is triggered by an absent email in the response, regardless of the cause. The message alone therefore does not establish that the customer has no email address or that one specific Meta setting is missing.
What should I check?
- Check that you are using the correct app and shop, then follow Facebook configuration.
- Check the permissions, consent and access restrictions displayed for that app. For apps where this distinction applies, testing with a person who has an app role does not establish access for customers without a role.
- If Meta requires a review, business verification or a specific access level, follow your app’s requirements. Do not assume that requesting advanced access guarantees an email address for every user.
- After completing an authorized test flow, check the address actually stored in the shop’s customer account.
The official access levels documentation defines which apps it covers; menus can differ for other app models.
Use a real contact address
Have the customer supply a real address and verify it through your shop’s process for order communications. A technical address cannot ensure their delivery. If the issue persists, send support the module and PrestaShop versions, the test step and time, and the message with confidential data removed.
