Do I have to include the LANG ID in the product ID?
In Basic settings, Include LANG ID as a prefix in product ID? changes the feed item ID, not the product URL.
With back-office ID mode, shop prefix BM and product 5, the ID can be BMFR5 in a French feed. If combination 1 is exported separately, it can become BMFR5v1. See the three construction modes.
When should LANG be disabled?
- Country or language feeds: localized versions of an item must retain the same ID as the main feed. Disable LANG for this setup; see the dedicated procedure.
- An existing catalog or Pixel: compare catalog IDs with actual
content_ids. If the previous tracking uses numeric IDs alone, back-office ID mode without shop or LANG prefixes may fit; if it uses references or EAN, examine that mode instead. - A language mismatch: inspect actual generated values before changing the setting. Do not assume a mismatch merely from the name of a language pack.
Warning: changing ID construction changes catalog item identity. Check duplicates and existing campaigns, then test exact equality between feed and event IDs.
