How to display the energy efficiency class or other energy certification of my products?

Depending on the country in which you want to promote your products through Google Shopping ads, you may be required to provide the certifications of your products such as energy efficiency ratings (specifically if you want to sell your products in any of the EU or EFTA member states or the UK).

The Google Merchant Center Pro version (or the Advanced plan of our Google Merchant Center module by subscription) allows you to include the following certification attributes for your products in your data feed:

 

First you need to create a "Certification Authority" feature in your PrestaShop back office:

 

 

and assign it the value(s) that will be used for your products. To know the values accepted by Google, visit this page.

 

 

Do the same for the "Certification name" and "Certification code" features:

 

 

 

Next, you need to assign the corresponding "Certification authority", "Certification name" and "Certification code" values to all the products concerned.

Let's imagine, for example, that you sell the product listed by the European Commission in the EPREL register: https://eprel.ec.europa.eu/screen/product/washingmachines2019/2079372

It has the following certification attributes:

If you sell this product, you must indicate these attribute values in the product file:

 

 

Now go to the module to integrate these tags into your data feed for Google Merchant Center.

In the "Product feed management" section, click on the "Advanced feed options" tab, select "Yes" for the "Do you want to include certification tags?" option and save the tab to proceed with the configuration:

 

 

Now click on the green button to configure the tag for each category:

 

 

A window opens with a list of your categories(*). For each category containing products for which you have to display a certification, associate the "Certification authority", "Certification name" and "Certification code" features:

(*)Warning : please note that the categories we are talking about are the DEFAULT categories.

 

 

Click on save.

Once you've submitted your product feed, Google will display the label corresponding to the certification attributes you've specified for each product, in your Google Shopping ads. For example, Google will look up your product in the EU EPREL database and render the appropriate energy efficiency class in graphical or textual form on your Shopping ads and free listings.
