Why were the XML files not created ?
With XML + CRON, the module must be able to create and update a physical file at the root of the PrestaShop installation. An on-the-fly URL works differently: Google requests the generated content when it fetches that URL.
Check file creation and access
- Note the exact file name and path reported by the module, including the
.xmlextension. - Ask your webmaster to check that PHP can create and update that file in the shop directory. Also check file ownership, available disk space and PHP logs.
- Generate the feed again and open its public XML URL. Creating an empty file manually is not enough: it must contain a complete, accessible feed.
A write permission failure, a generation error and an inaccessible URL need different investigations. Do not make the entire directory publicly writable to bypass the error. If you need technical help, contact your webmaster or our support with the exact message.
